Mental Health

Dorset mind aims to help people deal with mental health concerns and support people caring for those with mental health issues.  It is an independent charitable provider of mental health services. There is information on what to do and where to get help in a crisis and other information on befriending, under 18 services and over 18's information.

Kooth - Free,safe and anonymous online support for young people.  Online access until 1pm.  Provides mental health support for children /adolescents. You can register and gain access to counselling and more specialist psychology support. www.kooth.com

Chat Health: Chat Health is a confidential text messaging service that enables children and young people aged 11-19 in Dorset to send health related questions via text to the School Nursing Team. Gambling

Gamcare service is available for anyone aged 11 to 18 living in the UK that is worried about their own, or someone else’s gambling or money spent in gaming. We offer advice, guidance and education to parents/carers/professionals as well. They generally ask the screening question “Are you worried about your own, or someone else’s gambling or money spent in gaming?” for determining eligibility. They are a newer service with no waiting lists and no limits on how long clients can stay in our service.
