STAFF CHANGES DECEMBER 2020 ANNOUNCEMENT
After being a GP at Moordown Medical Centre for over eight years, Dr Amanda Evans has formally announced her decision that sadly she will be leaving us at the end of December 2020. Dr Evans has given excellent service and dedication to her patients and work colleagues alike. She will be greatly missed.
We are also pleased to welcome Dr Laura Foster to the practice team.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Evans for all her hard work and support over the years and wish her good luck in the future. She is continuing to work in other medical roles, but also intends to spend some time working abroad.
We would also like to welcome Heather Martin to our team. Heather is an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner who works alongside the GP's in helping our patients.

Heather is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. An ANP is a highly experienced, senior nurse who has undertaken extensive training to deal with a wide variety of minor ailments and illnesses. Heather is an independant prescriber and sees patients for consultations as an alternative to a GP.
The practice employs two qualified nurses who are primarily responsible for: baby immunisations, travel immunisation advice, cervical smears, wound dressing, removal of sutures, routine injections, treatment of minor injuries, ECG tests, flu vaccinations (Oct, Nov, Dec), ear syringing, asthma and diabetic clinics. We invite patients to check their own blood pressure in the waiting room and the results should be labelled with your name and date of birth and then placed in the box above, should you require any assistance with the machine do ask for help from the receptionist. As part of the Nursing Team, we also employ a Healthcare Assistant/Phlebotomist who is responsible for blood tests.

These efficient ladies are here to help you. When telephoning for medical attention the receptionist may ask for a few details. All reception staff have been fully trained and make these enquiries in order to help you in the most appropriate way. Please rest assured that the rules of confidentiality apply equally to all practice staff.
Our Midwife is responsible for antenatal and early postnatal care. She is available to give advice on all aspects of maternity care. She can be contacted on 01202 704915 to arrange your first appointment.
